The battery charging and power supply unit GL4024P is used for charging high-quality lead or nickel-cadmium batteries and/or for supplying 24V DC circuits. The charging unit is especially suitable for use with diesel generators, where operating safety and long-term stability are necessary. The primary clocked switching power supply is intended for use on the top-hat rail due to its high efficiency, low weight and low heat development. It is designed such that heat transport is vertical, meaning that other electronic units can be mounted on the hat rail about 5-15 cm away from the power supply unit (depends on amount of heat), thus saving space. The output of the GL4024P is connected to the battery or DC supply via protective equipment. The output voltage / final charging voltage is also kept stable during large mains fluctuations (3x 340 - 575 VAC) and high temperature variations. When the unit is operated for longer periods at high currents and in heated environments, the charging current set is reduced automatically in order to reduce the thermal load on the components.

GL10024P Data Sheet
The GL10024P was designed specifically for high power reserves in the low-voltage supply at switchgear and battery charge. The voltage range can be adjusted from 11.5 volts to 29 volts at 100 amps output current. This allows 12 or 24 volt switchgear supply and simultaneously invite lead and NiCd batteries up to a capacity of 1000 Ah. Another highlight besides the intelligent 3-stage charging technique is the battery status check. All relevant parameters can be visualized and parameterized locally or remotely via the Intranet / Internet.

This charging unit is offered in an open design, is used for charging batteries and for supplying connected DC circuits and is mounted in switchgear cabinets. As a result of its high efficiency, the unit has low self-heating, thus achieve high reliability and a long service life. The batteries connected are supplied with a constant final charging voltage (acc.to DIN) regardless of external temperatures and mains fluctuations. Integrated protective measures against short-circuit and wrong pole connection ensure safe operation of battery charging unit.

The battery charging unit with „Power fail“ contain a battery undervoltage monitor with relay output ( closed contacts in power on and open contacts in power off or fault situation ) as option. Additionally the relay output switches after supply undervoltage or internal faillure of charger unit. Through it the customer get a very good safety against discharging of his starting and control batteries. Normally the power-fail signal will be delayed in progamming units or a separate time relay.
