This charging unit is offered in an open design, is used for charging batteries and for supplying connected DC circuits and is mounted in switchgear cabinets. As a result of its high efficiency, the unit has low self-heating, thus achieve high reliability and a long service life. The batteries connected are supplied with a constant final charging voltage (acc.to DIN) regardless of external temperatures and mains fluctuations. Integrated protective measures against short-circuit and wrong pole connection ensure safe operation of battery charging unit.

The battery charging unit with „Power fail“ contain a battery undervoltage monitor with relay output ( closed contacts in power on and open contacts in power off or fault situation ) as option. Additionally the relay output switches after supply undervoltage or internal faillure of charger unit. Through it the customer get a very good safety against discharging of his starting and control batteries. Normally the power-fail signal will be delayed in progamming units or a separate time relay.

The battery charging unit/power supply has a temperature-compensated final charging voltage wth the option of adjustment during operation. As a result of its low self-heating, the unit has a high degree of operating safety.
